Want to make a big impact on a tight budget?

Start with your front door.

Your front door is a large part of the first impression visitors get, and the color and state of it can say a lot about you and your style.

red front door before and after

Red is considered a traditional, more formal choice and is often found on colonial style homes. Barn red is less formal, for obvious reasons. Red's are tricky because they can quickly look out of place on a modern home, unless the red tends towards orange or purple.

Navy Blue or Black also typically lean formal but have been considered trendy for about the last decade so you’ll find examples of them on a wide variety of home styles.

green front door before and after

White is fine but let’s face it, white often feels "unfinished" as a front door color. It’s also bland as the representative “arms” that welcome you home.

Some of my favorite front doors have been painted non-traditional, bold colors, such as pink, royal or aqua, or orange.  Below are a few before and after's.

A fresh coat of paint or a new color for your front door can be a point of Pride and is one of the quickest and easiest ways to freshen up the front and transform your curb appeal.
